BRYNNIE'S
STORY

We want to take you back to the year 2015. Shannon attended an apologetics conference in Costa Mesa as a youth group chaperone. While at the event, Save the Storks gave a presentation about their Mercedes Sprinter mobile clinics created to care for women no matter where they are! Shannon had the opportunity to board one of their mobile clinics and listen to a presentation about how powerful their outreach was! She had put her name down on a list as being interested in knowing more about acquiring a Stork Bus.

Shannon processed with the Lord saying “Wow God! This would be amazing one day! This is like the dream!” She got a call the very next week that there was a donor in our area that wanted to cover the cost of an entire Stork Bus to give to a pregnancy clinic, upwards of over $200,000 and they would like to know if Options wanted it!! But Shannon had to let them know that we were not a licensed medical clinic yet, although we were pursuing it, and Save the Storks graciously informed us that they were looking for an already licensed clinic so the Stork Bus could be used right away, which we completely understood.

We began moving towards the vision of becoming a licensed

medical clinic and if you’ve been with us on this journey,  you

know it has taken a long time. If there is anything we’ve learned in our time with Options it’s that some things move much slower than we would like them to, but God’s timing is perfect.

For two years, we prayed for a medical director, and Dr. Machida answered the call! Then, for two years we prayed for a Nurse because we couldn’t apply for the license without a nurse on board, Jamale, our Director of Nursing arrived! Then, for two years we worked on trying to get our building compliant with CA primary care clinic codes. This last year was the most difficult.

We had been in conversation with architects and engineers trying to draft plans to make our building compliant and in the middle of December 2021, during a board meeting, our Board President, Landon Diener, informed us that the news back from the engineer was that the equipment needed to make our building compliant would have been too extraneous for the existing condition of the facility, basically rendering it impossible for our building to become CA code compliant, ever. On the cusp of that defeating news, we had a glimmer of hope.

Save the Storks had asked if they could talk to Shanon about something. She took the call with Save the Storks a few days later and this is the news she received from them, “We have this used Stork Bus that we need to find a home for before the end of the year, (and we quote) and ‘everyone and their mama wants it to go to la Puente’, so I’m calling to see if you would like to have it.” She went on to share with us that since it had already been in operation in CA, it was already CA code compliant and this would be completely free to us, all we would need to do was sign the paperwork and they believed this was going to help solve our building compliance problems to finally get our medical license!! God is so good! His timing is perfect!

Although we had wished the ability for Options to provide ultrasounds had come years ago, we realized we were never without. That God had always made a way for us to provide our clients with free ultrasounds. For years we were able to refer to two amazing OB/GYNS in our area, or as we call them, the Dr. Barajas brothers. Then, within this last year, we were blessed by partnering with Horizon, a sister pregnancy clinic, that offered to have their Save the Storks bus come to Options every Friday to provide free ultrasounds to our clients!

Here’s the incredible thing about this, with this partnership, our whole team has been training this past year to provide services on a save the storks mobile clinic, and are you ready for this, not just any save the storks mobile clinic, but this very mobile that was gifted to us!! The used Stork Bus we received was Horizon’s original unit! Isn’t that amazing!! We were all trained on her and now she’s ours! It gets better.

When Brynnie arrived, that’s our Stork Bus’ name by the way, and we were sitting inside the unit being trained on how to operate her, Shannon had a flashback of that Stork Bus tour she had in Costa Mesa in 2015 and realized, this used bus we’ve been gifted was the very same bus she sat on and dreamt of one day Options having one of its own!!

This blows our minds, but that is the providence of God!

He planted that little heart's desire on that Stork bus that day,

and He gave Options, not just any stork bus, but the very

Stork Bus he planted that desire on!!!

This is where we are at. We have submitted Brynnie’s Medical

License and are making some revisions to it before we resubmit.

Will you be praying for us as we continue this licensing process?

After Shannon hung up the phone, she felt like the Lord said, “You think this is this big, pie in the sky dream, but I can do it in a minute, so get ready because there is one for you!”
